Sacsayhuaman in Inca times was called "House of the Sun" and was a religious center of great importance.

This fort was built with large granite blocks and consists of three large terraces which overlap in a zigzag. Around there are other places of importance as: Qenko, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay that are part of the archaeological complex of Sacsayhuaman.
